Sewing Workshop - Sew a Gathered skirt

In this workshop you will make a gorgeous gathered skirt! This is one of our most requested Thread Room projects. We think it is the perfect skirt for any occasion.

You will learn all about laying out fabrics and patterns, interpreting pattern instructions, constructing a gathered skirt - gathering, interfacing, waistbands, elastic, invisible zippers, hems and so many more skills along the way.

And of course, you get to go home with a gorgeous gathered skirt.

You will also get to keep your pattern and instructions, so you can make many more dresses in your own time.

Skirt Details: A gathered skirt with a flat waistband at the front, slightly elasticated waistband at the back, invisible side seam zipper & concealed waistband closure. Skirt can easily be lengthened/shortened in workshop.

Skill Level
This workshops is great for those who have used a sewing machine before, can thread it and sew a straight line. Perfect for anyone who has previously attended our 'Start Sewing' workshop.

We are happy to give you a refresher on the machine, if it has been a while since you last stitched!

Sizes
We currently have patterns for NZ 6-22. If you want a different size, just email us and we can prepare a pattern for you.

This is an adults workshop suitable for ages 16+. If you are interested in kids classes/workshops please check our other activities.
