Hem It Yourself — A Thread Room Alterations Workshop
Part of our Alterations Series

How many items are sitting in your wardrobe unworn because the hem is wrong? Too long, too short, or just not quite right?

This workshop will change that.

In this hands-on 3-hour session, alterations expert Mariya will walk you through everything you need to know about hemming — from the different techniques to when to use them. You'll practise on samplers first, then work on pieces you've brought from home. You'll leave with a skill you'll use forever.

No sewing experience needed. All machines and equipment provided.

What you'll learn:

• Different hemming techniques and when to use each one

• How to measure and mark a hem accurately

• How to hem by machine and by hand

• How to handle tricky fabrics and finishes

What to bring: 1–2 items from your wardrobe you'd like to hem.
