Learn to sew at Hobsonville Point Primary School!

Class details
A fun, creative after-school sewing class for kids in Year 4 and above. Whether it's their very first sewing lesson or they've been coming to our kids sewing classes for years, students learn real sewing skills, build confidence using a sewing machine, and create projects they're proud to take home — all in a relaxed and supportive environment.

Students from all schools are welcome to attend.

When
Wednesdays 3.30-4.30pm

This class is also available at Wednesdays 4.30-5.30pm.

Term 1 starts Wednesday 10 February and classes run for 8 weeks.

What students will make

Experienced Students
This term, students will make their own Panel Skirt, learning new construction techniques to create a stylish, wearable piece they can make their own with fabric choices and colourful topstitching. They’ll also sew a Pocket Bag, a fun little shoulder bag in a fabric of their choice, perfect for carrying everyday essentials and adding a pop of colour to any outfit.

Beginner Students
Students new to sewing will learn how to safely use a sewing machine, sew straight seams, follow simple patterns and build confidence through fun projects.

They’ll create a range of awesome pieces along the way, including scrunchies, pin cushions, soft toys, skirts and more.

Classes are held in the music room. Once at the main reception, go left and we are the classroom on the end.

What to bring
All materials and sewing machines are provided.

Students need:
- Covered shoes
- Long hair tied back for sewing machine safety

Credit/debit card only. Automatic instalments can be set up weekly, fortnightly or monthly, from when booking is made, until the end of the activity.

A 1.85% service fee applies to credit/debit card payments.
